Café Dan Turell

Café Dan Turèll is one of Copenhagen's oldest French cafés. Legend has it that Dan Turèll – the famous suburban writer and social critic – lent his name to the café in exchange for always drinking and eating for free at his regular spot at the bar. A bar that, by the way, is characterized by music from the 70s and 80s.

The café on Store Regnegade was opened in 1977 and was inspired by the bohemian life of Paris, which had just begun to find its way to Copenhagen. Today, just like back then, you can sit in relaxed surroundings and enjoy the city's life, constantly bustling past the large windows facing the street.

If you're a wine enthusiast, Dan Turell has an extensive wine list to offer, ensuring even the most discerning palate can be satisfied. The same goes for the cocktail menu, which inspires you to explore the house's own flavours and the popular classics, such as the Espresso Martini, which is a must-have from time to time. Additionally, there are delicious snacks or a bowl of chilli con carne to satisfy your hunger.

Behind the bar is a bar area, in the same style, for small parties of up to 25 people with high tables and sofas, plenty of mirrors, 2 TV screens for sporting events, and whatever else can be celebrated in a festive atmosphere.
