J.C. Jacobsens Garden
J.C. Jacobsen's Garden is a hidden oasis next to Dansehallerne and in the developing city of Carlsberg.
Originally it was J.C. Jacobsen's private garden from 1847-1867, but since 2008 it has been open to the public so that Copenhageners and visitors can take a break from the hustle and bustle and enjoy the tranquillity of beautiful surroundings. Jacobsen was inspired to create the garden during his many travels and brought several plants back to Denmark.
The garden was renovated in 2017, and underwent extensive changes, but all true to Jacobsen's visions and drawings, including a bed and a pond. There is also a "noise wall" that stands as a work of art, bringing a special peace and quiet to the garden.
Entering the Carlsberg Garden is like stepping into a small paradise. The winding paths, the old trees and the lawns turn the garden into a little labyrinth. The garden is a forgotten gem in Copenhagen, so you won't meet many people on your way.
