Restaurant Smör

Restaurant Smör is the National Museum of Denmark's very own eatery, which with its own interpretation serves a true piece of Danish national heritage; Smørrebrød.

It's no secret that Copenhagen has been put on the world map for its amazing food scene. Danish food history has developed at record speed, and for many Danes, the old classic culinary art is considered a kind of national treasure. Therefore, it is no coincidence that at the National Museum of Denmark you will find Restaurant Smör, which with clear references to Danish food history and ingredients serves new interpretations of one of the Danes' great favourites: Smørrebrød.

The setting for the restaurant is a classic Danish pub in an elegant and familiar version. Here there is room for both young and old, visitors from near and far, and for the small and not so small hunger. In addition to the classic smørrebrød, you'll also find a few other traditionel danish dishes on the menu and the special "Eat like a Viking" serving, which is inspired by the diet and mythology of the Vikings.

You can always visit Restaurant Smör without paying an entrance to the exhibitions.
