Vester Vov Vov

This is a real grassroots cinema that was opened by a gang of film enthusiasts back in 1975.

Right from the very beginning, the focus has been on alternative, not too commercial movies. Some mainstream movies are also screened here when they are no longer in the major cinemas. So this is your chance to see that film you missed last month!

As a special service to foreigners visiting Copenhagen, Vester Vov Vov intermittently shows Danish movies with English subtitles. Recently, some of the dogma films were shown here.

The café is well worth a visit. The tables outside are a great spot to enjoy the afternoon and evening sun. You are allowed to bring a cup of coffee or a glass of wine with you into the movie theatre: airplane seats complete with folding tables are provided for your convenience. Have a nice flight!
