In collaboration with Danish Cycling Tourism, we have designed a number of unique cycling routes that take you through beautiful nature, historical sights and maritime surroundings in and around Elsinore. Experience everything from the cosy streets of Elsinore's old town to the magnificent

Landscape of Power

The North Zealand landscape as we know it today has been shaped by the rulers of the past, by the king, the church and the better bourgeoisie/lords. These rulers have left traces that are still out there. In a green belt around Elsinore from Hammermøllen in the north to Flynderupgård in the south, you can move through the National Park Kongernes Nordsjælland and experience the industrial heritage and the old royal road through Nyrup Hegn.

Around Hornbæk

From a small fishing community that paid the king in the catch of the day to an artistic and active seaside town with lots of soul - take a walking tour in beautiful Hornbæk. Hornbæk, which used to attract great artists, has developed into a year-round seaside town with an active marina, shopping, gastro, the best beach hotels and plenty of art and culture. The city is located in the centre of the Kongernes Nordsjælland National Park and is surrounded by nature between lake, beach and plantation. Lace up your boots and experience all the delights of Hornbæk, whether it's nature, narrow cosy streets, harbour, beach, art or shopping.

Cultural Trail

The cultural trail blends remarkable cultural stories with stunning nature and magnificent views. The route takes you through the most beautiful part of Elsinore, past Marienlyst Castle, the castle gardens with views of Sweden, on to Hammermøllen and Hellebæk, before returning along Strandvejen. The entire route is located in the Kongernes Nordsjælland National Park, an area that is a recreational mecca. Along the way there are plenty of opportunities to take small cultural detours.

Espergærde - Dronningmølle

Experience some of Denmark's richest nature and unique cultural traces from the past as you cycle from the coastal town of Espergærde, through the Kings of North Zealand National Park, past Gurre Lake and on to beautiful Hornbæk before ending in Dronningemølle. The nature of North Zealand hides great and overwhelming experiences and is perfect for cyclists in search of great experiences.

Elsinore Walk

Welcome to Elsinore Walk, a cultural promenade which is free for everyone. You can explore a city with a fascinating history spanning over 800 years. Discover - or rediscover - some of the "secret places" that you've only been able to find if you know the city really well.

Hornbæk - Dronningmølle

The five kilometre hike starts at Dronningmølle Station from where you walk past the inviting Café DrømmeCaféen and then Dronningmølle Strand. Follow the coastal path with views of Kullen and Sweden as you walk towards Hornbæk. At Hornbæk Harbour you can take a relaxing break. And if you haven't already had a swim along the way, this is a great opportunity before having lunch at the harbour.
